Holi is festival of good over evil, to some it is a festival of love and to some it is a new beginning. Holi marks the beginning of spring and everything around is colorful. The trees bear new leafs, and fruits.
Holi is a festival of colors and I generally celebrate it by making a colorful Rangoli either using colors or flowers.
Holi also reminds people of devotion!! If you are a devotee, then whichever super power you believe in shall protect you from all the evils like Lord Vishnu in Nar Sinha roop did for Bhakta Prahlad.
And whoever is holika, the end is always ASH!! We never used trees to burn holika; instead we always used Gobris made of cow dung!!
Holi also resembles elimination of discrimination be it in terms of color or race. Krishna colored the fairer Radha to look like him and that is how Holi was played with colors. It looks like Krishna knew already that people are going to fall for fairer skin and invest a lot in “fair & lovely” which is complete illusion!!!! He perhaps wanted everyone to accept a person as is..
I am so proud to belong to such a diverse, thoughtful and logical part of society.
I would just say that enjoy the festival with complete fervor and respect a person.
BE HUMAN!!!! Wish you happy and safe HOLI!
